STEMEQUINE STATEMENT FROM A VETERINARIAN:
03/22/2011
I first was introduced to StemEquine through a client who had a young colt that never had grown well. We suspected an endocrine issue but could not definitively diagnose it. The client placed the colt on StemEquine and when I saw him a couple of months later I was very impressed with how much improvement I saw in his overall condition and growth.
After reading the research behind the StemEquine product I decided that I would experiment with one of my own horses, a Thoroughbred gelding who had been 3/5 lame for three years due to a combination of pedal osteitis and lesions in his navicular area. I had already gone through the gamut of treatment options with him: Tildren injection, shockwave therapy, injections of the coffin joint and navicular bursa, Bute, oral joint supplements, herbal anti-inflammatories, various shoeing techniques, and more. None of these had worked at all with the exception of the navicular bursa injection, which brought improvement for a few weeks. I wasn’t thrilled with the idea of having to inject this horse every one to two months for the rest of his life and figured I didn’t have anything to lose by trying the StemEquine.
I planned on giving him a trial period of three months on the StemEquine. After about two months I thought I saw some improvement in his gait. Within another week it was obvious that he had improved, but I was still somewhat skeptical about the improvement lasting more than a couple of weeks. However, he continued to move better and by the end of the trial period he was almost entirely sound even on our hard, frozen winter ground ---- going barefoot.
I have continued once-daily feeding of StemEquine and my horse has gone from a consistent grade 3/5 lame to very intermittent mild lameness after exceptional exertion (he insists on galloping on the rocky ground at our farm). I have not had shoes on him for months and my farrier and I have both noticed that his right front hoof capsule, which had contracted substantially from lack of weightbearing, is now nearly the same size as his other front foot.
Given the very visible results I have noted in both my client’s horse and my own, I would not hesitate to recommend this product. It has proven science behind it and, from what I have seen, a good track record as well.
